Why should I buy a property in Spain?

Having lived myself in Spain for the past 17 years I can confidently say that I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. If you are still not fully convinced on moving over to Spain and buying a property here, whether it be for full time use, holiday use or rentals I will be listing out just a few examples of why you won’t regret it!

Firstly, let’s talk about the climate. There are different climate zones in Spain due to the size of the country however I will concentrate on the Valencian Community as this is where we are situated. Here you can expect a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters with very little rain. In the Alicante region of Spain on average there is only 285mm of rain fall each year and you can expect at least 5 hours of sunshine during the winter and up to 11 hours throughout the rest of the year. The average temperatures you can expecting during the colder months (December, January and February) experience lows of 7C and during the warmest summer months (July, August, September) an average of 30C.

The location of Spain is a big bonus. Spain is situated in southern Europe and is connected by land to France and Portugal. Each can be visited via car or plane. It will only take approximately 2 hours on a plane to reach European capitals and North Africa from Spain. Due to the large scale of this country depending on the different areas you visit you can come across very typical Spanish towns or areas full of foreigners who have moved over to Spain to work and live like me for example.

Schools. Depending on where you live your children will be assigned to a public school near you however if you prefer to have your child attend a school where they either teach completely in English and follow the British schooling system or a bi-lingual school there are many private schools located in the Alicante region.

If you were thinking of purchasing a property in Spain and using it as a rental property (either long-term or summer lets) you will have no problem whatsoever in acquiring tenants. Heidi from Choice Rentals can be found our office in El Raso, she will provide you with all the necessary information regarding renting your property.
